life after death

“I think no matter where you be, you’ll hold me in your memory”-Dorothy Parker

life after death

by Carmen H Gray

Your smile, your circumspect look

Long ago from another lifetime

Revived themselves from somewhere

Deep in the space between where I began

And where I wander now

Your gorgeous laughter mingling

In perfectly obnoxious tune with mine

My friend, my confidante, my spirit walker

Dying brings on new life

Resurrecting dormant connections

Beyond the ashes of your mother

Beyond her coded scribbles

Beyond the giant white moth

And the dried wildflowers saved on your dashboard

Lies life after death

Rare Worlds Collide

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”-Anais Nin

Rare Worlds Collide

by Carmen H Gray

My once so small world

Multiplied by yours

Expanding into something new

Teeming with tenderness

Compassion and honeyed light

Orbiting around the sun

A day spanning all of time

When rare worlds collide
