“Un-winged and naked, sorrow surrenders its crown to a throne called grace.”

Grace
by Carmen H Gray
Sorrow said to me
Hold me
Keep me
In your heart
For just a little while
So I kept it
Hidden and safe
And bestowed it
With gifts
Of time
And in the meanwhile
You said to me
Tell me your heart
Show me your pain
Teach me your song
Of exile
You did not wish
To change it
You just beheld me
The way I was
Unfolding like
A lily of the nile
Flower of love
Blossoms opening
Blue beauty
Transforming gracefully
Sorrow surrendered
Pain reconciled
