Kindness Lives
by Carmen H Gray
Kindness lives in the space
Where you feel the lowest
Yet the stranger beside you
Is crying in pain
And you give them the last
Measure of yourself
Thinking you helped them
But they end up
Comforting you
Kindness lives in the space
Where life is messy
And unclear
And confusing
Yet true friends and love
Hold you
When you cannot hold yourself
Kindness lives in the space
Where you can see
The hurt that others do not
Because you have
Swam in the same suffering
And instead of offering advice
You simply (profoundly) offer your heart
One response to “Kindness Lives”
What a lovely deep thoughtful poem.
