This morning my father helped me view some things a little differently, as he always does (he has a unique way of looking at the world and I love that about him). To not see the pause in my daughter’s life as a loss or a missing out on things, but as an alternate focus of her combined gifts to rise above what was necessary to overcome and that she will emerge stronger and more powerful than before.

Dear Carmen, Your Dad said in reply to your post, What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger!” I believe that is true. We both had tears in our eyes as we read this. Maybe too, it is like the caterpillar that must spend time in a chrysalis, before it emerges as a beautiful butterfly.
