The Ladybug Reappears

It invited itself in to greet me

That pensive afternoon

The bright red shell

And tiny black spots

A cheerful allusion

To strength and protection

Of living my own truth

A playful reminder

Of the young boy

I had yet to meet

Who lived his own truth

To the very end
