Yes

“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”
-Voltaire

Yes

by Carmen H Gray

Silent acquiescence

A compliant nodding

Internal convalescence

Oblivious to defrauding

The wayward world warbles

Like a broken record

Nonsensical garbles

From the shepherd

Say yes say yes say yes

Lay down gently while

You are lead through the process

Blind to what you reconcile

Tangential

Tangential

by Carmen H Gray

While you see

That slope

Of the line

Falling

If you stop to touch

New points in space

A rigid line

With limitations

Transforms

Into an arc

Curving into

Infinite directions

Vivication

“She was becoming herself and daily casting aside that fictitious self which we assume like a garment with which to appear before the world.”
―Kate Chopin, The Awakening

Vivication

by Carmen H Gray

We arrive here

Bare

Then clothed and told

As we grow old

Who we are

Yet the scars

 Many wounds later

Within us, the fabricators

Show our real selves

Broken out of those perfect shells

That we attempt to uphold

For the world to behold

Standstill In Mid-Seas

Reason and Passion XV
by Kahlil Gibran

Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your
judgment wage war against passion and your appetite.
Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul, that I might turn the
discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody.
But how shall I, unless you yourselves be also the peacemakers, nay, the
lovers of all your elements?
Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring
soul.
If either your sails or our rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else
be held at a standstill in mid-seas.
For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a
flame that burns to its own destruction.
Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion; that it may
sing;
And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through
its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes.

Standstill in Mid-Seas
by Carmen H Gray

I have drifted
For a while in the doldrums
After a rough capsize
It was a vital place
To rest in the still, cool waters
The monotony of languidness
A refuge in its own right
Until the white cap of movement
Emerges in the distance
Awakening me from
A standstill in Mid-Seas

All Of The Hemispheres

All The Hemispheres

by Hafiz

Leave the familiar for a while.
Let your senses and bodies stretch out

Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.
Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.

Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of Happiness and giving
Upon our intimate assembly.

Change rooms in your mind for a day.

All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.

Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting

While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You

“Greet yourself in your thousand other forms”.  Yes, there is a universe inside me that for all of this time has yet to be known.
